New Hope Baptist Church takes an active roll in ministering to our students at all levels by partnering with the local elementary schools, high schools and colleges to help build faith and share love.
New Hope’s Student Ministry exists for two reasons:

Our Pastor
Dr. George Shears III
Rev. Dr. George Shears III is a passionate preacher with a powerful voice for this generation. His enthusiasm for Christ is contagious, and his messages are electrifying. He is a sought-after preacher who is known for making it plain. Through sound doctrine and a heart for pastoral care, Pastor Shears shares the Gospel in a way that people of all walks of life can understand.
Pastor Shears has received his Bachelor of Science degree from Benedict College in Columbia, SC, a Master of Divinity degree from Gardner-Webb University, a Masters of Sacred Theology from Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary, and a Doctor of Ministry at Charlotte Christian College & Theological Seminary.
